Import your existing wallet during Backpack account creation

Import your existing wallet during Backpack account creation using your seed phrase or a hardware wallet. Set a password and finalize your account in minutes.

If you wish to import an existing wallet during the registration process, click on 'I already have a wallet'

Then chose a method to import your wallet.

Import with seed phrase

Click 'Import with secret phrase'

Input your 12 or 24-word seed phrase to generate the associated addresses. If required, toggle to 24-word input by selecting 'Use 24-word recovery mnemonic'. After you've entered your seed phrase carefully, click 'Import'.

Select the network you want to use and click on it.

Addresses from your mnemonic will appear. Select any you wish to import to Backpack. You can toggle the derivation path with the drop-down menu. Click 'Import Accounts' to complete.

Import with private key

To import a wallet using a private key, first, locate your private key. Once it's done. Go back to the import menu and click "Show advanced options" to reveal additional settings.

Click 'Import with private key'

Enter your private key and click 'Import'

Importing a hardware wallet

Click on "Show advanced options" to reveal additional settings.

Choose "I have a hardware wallet" and select your network.

Click "Next" in the pop-up to connect your hardware wallet via HID (Human Interface Device) connection. Follow the specific instructions for your hardware wallet to ensure proper usage.

Set your password

Following, set your password. This will be used to unlock Backpack.

Review the terms of service, and click Next to finalize account creation.
